Pottery Date Night in Toronto

A pottery date night is simple: two people, one wheel each, and 2.5 hours making something together at Toronto's dreamiest pottery studio. No experience needed, and no pressure to be good at it. You will laugh, you will get clay on yourselves, and each of you will make a piece that comes back to you trimmed, fired and glazed.

Book two seats in any First Spin session. Evening sessions run on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, at $74 per person.

How a Date Night Works

Choose a session and book two seats: the wheels face each other, so you spend the session face to face. Your instructor gets you set up at your wheels and teaches you the basics of wheel throwing: centering, opening, and pulling your first shapes. Clay is unlimited throughout the session, so a wobble is never a problem: squash it down and start again. At the end, each of you chooses your favourite piece, and our studio technicians trim, fire and glaze it for you. We will let you know when your pieces are ready to collect, a few weeks later.

Made for Every Kind of Night Out

A date night here needs nothing but good company and the clay: a warm studio, good music, and something real to make together. It works as a sober date night just as naturally as it works as the start of a bigger night out: make something first, then head out if that's the plan. Either way, the evening begins face to face at the wheels.

Date Night Questions

Do we need any experience?
None at all. First Spin is built for complete beginners, and your instructor leads the session and circulates, helping whenever you need it.

What should we wear?
Something you do not mind getting a little clay on. We provide aprons.

When do we get our pieces?
Our studio technicians trim, fire and glaze your favourite pieces after your session, and we will let you know when they are ready to collect, usually a few weeks later.
